Hi! My name is Aashka Mehta and I am a fashion designer based in Seattle.

Originally from India, I completed my bachelors from F.I.T. with a specialisation in Knitwear Design. Alongside my studies, I undertook various work experiences at iconic American brands like Calvin Kelin, Aeropostale and Diane Von Furstenburg. I currently work at Nordstrom.

I love fashion because it whisks me away to that elusive world of happiness. The element of surprise keep the moment inviting and exciting.

I started drawing at a very young age as it gave me beautiful outlet to funnel  my inner rebel. Over time, my passion for art drove me into the world of fashion. I grew up in a small town where there was no Vogue or internet. One channel on the tv – FTV – showed me the world i dreamt of. The vision of beautiful girls strutting down the runway with exhuberant confidence like goddess captivated me.

The 90s are my favourite. The runways were theatrical, like a spectacle. Fashion struck an emotion with the audience.

During my studies, I undertook a year-long study abroad program in Milan which for me, was truly a life-changing experience. I earned an apprenticeship at Emilio De La Morena in London.
